Misha began his ultimate career at Swarthmore College where, as captain, he helped lead his team to a 13th place finish at College Nationals in 2002. He was named to the UPA Metro East All-Region team in 2002 and 2003. After graduating, he played open club in Washington, DC (Electric Pig) and Boston (Twisted Metal), qualifying for Club Nationals 4 times. After a knee injury sidelined him for 3 years, he returned to mixed club ultimate in 2009, playing with Cambridge-based teams Quiet Coyote (2009-2010) and The Ghosts (2010-2014). In all, Misha has competed in 8 Club Nationals Tournaments, placing 4th with Quiet Coyote in 2009 and 3rd with The Ghosts in 2013. By finishing in the semifinals, these teams both qualified for the World Championships: Quiet Coyote placed 4th in Prague in 2010, and The Ghosts earned bronze in Lecco, Italy in 2014. He also has professional ultimate experience, playing with the (now-defunct) Connecticut Constitution (AUDL) in 2012 and the Boston Whitecaps (MLU) in 2013, where he was part of an undefeated season, winning the inaugural MLU championship with current Growlers teammate Brian Zid.

Medical residency (Radiology) brought Misha to San Diego in 2014. He played with the San Diego mixed team Dorado in 2015. Unfortunately, despite knocking off the region’s #1 seed in the semifinals, Dorado missed qualifying for nationals by one spot.

While he wishes he could still dominate downfield, Misha has settled into a handler role over the last several years. He prides himself on accurate breakmark throws and defense-demoralizing hucks. Watch out for his full-field flicks (if he ever gets out of the hospital, anyway)!
